Bug Repellent Spray

Description

DEET works, sure, but it’s not something everyone wants sprayed all over bare skin every summer evening. This spray takes the plant-oil route instead, leaning on a blend that’s genuinely known for keeping bugs at bay — citronella, lemongrass, peppermint, tea tree, sweet basil, lavender, marjoram, patchouli, rosemary, and eucalyptus, carried in a base of witch hazel, aloe, and distilled water.

Shake it well before every use since the essential oils and water base can separate a little sitting on the shelf. Spray it on exposed skin before heading outside, and reapply every couple of hours if you’re out for a while — plant-based repellents generally don’t last quite as long on the skin as synthetic ones, so don’t expect an all-day shield from one application.
